Lives of miserable and struggling men!

Lypheng at rice field
Having seen one short yet meaningful and inspiring 3D movie from the two guys I know, whose lives were struggling to survive and study for their future, I was really motivated to write down one short article about their lives. The story of these two men, who have enrolled in 3D skill in 03D Asia School, the first pioneering and professional school in Cambodia, for two years, is really impressed. Cutting down from 20 years to 1 minute in the video clip, it is of great value that we could visibly see what they intended to tell us in a very short movie playing with the sound of Khmer flute. These two guys have different backgrounds: Chhorm Ochy, a 19 year-old man, who is an orphanage child living by scavenging at the dumpsite for his daily life in the past 10 years, suffered the most in his life as he had to support his life through this kind of job though he did not want it. He has a dream that one day his life will change; he will be able to be trained in school to further his education, he will be able to support his grandmother who was struggling to support the family, and he will be able to support and help other children requiring basic needs just like he was. Life at that time was miserable. Though Phoeun Lypheng does not experience life as a scavenger living in a hard and miserable condition just like Ochy does, his life is not better than is Ochy. Knowing that he had to work as a shoes cleaning worker at one’s house and as worker at various places to earn a living, he had to struggle a lot to live in life, since his parents were not able to provide him a chance for schooling in high school and university. The lives of both needed to be strong, motivated, and courageous to face all challenging things in their lives.

It seems that both of them are so lucky in their lives having been admitted to pursue their individual dreams; it is the best chance ever in their lives having known Pour Un Sourire d’Enfant, a French NGO, supporting poor and underprivileged children in Cambodia who do not have a chance to be treated and educated like other children. Since then, they started to make a difference in their lives: Ochy started a foundation class to prepare himself for a 3D school whilst Lypheng pursued his foundation class of IT before deciding to choose their skill. Finally, they both chose a 3D skill in the first Cambodian 03D Asia School, specializing in 3D animation training. Not too long from that time, two years of the training were shortly completed just like a blink of an eye. Lypheng and Ochy becomes a friendly comrade though their age is slightly different. Having a quite similar situation that was subjected to testing bitter life experience, both of them start a career within the same company. Being 3D designers in an entertainment company is the first professional job they have got.

Looking backwards to the past few years, it is very totally different that they both could not really image that their lives could be what they are today thanks to what they patiently learnt and practiced at school, especially Pour Un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) who first gives them a brighter hope and enriches them to see themselves clearly by educating and through their gifted potentials. It does not matter who you are, where you are from, and what you look like, yet what matters most is your willingness and awareness to accept ‘change’ in every single time of your life.
